Director's Message :

Welcome Back !

“What is a 21st Century good school?"

"Are we preparing our students for the 21st century requisites?"

"Are our students acquiring the 21st century skills?"

These are questions that I consistently contemplate. Evidently, our students will be encountering distinctive problems and enthralling new possibilities, and interestingly our Kindergarten students will be retiring in the year 2075, so what 21st century education are they receiving? Definitely, it is the three R's, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. And definitely, it is not only the top quality buildings and classrooms that we have.

21st century education is rather complex, innovative, challenging, and flexible. It views the child as a whole, and the young individual as a critical thinker, problem solver, and I add here being a 'digital native' in a 21st century media and communication culture. This is certainly what we aspire to achieve with our students at Qatar Academy Al Khor.  The curriculum can be utilized for the purpose of enhancing our students' agility and adaptability skills, effective communication skills, analytical and collaborative skills, curiosity and creativity, taking initiative and being a risk-taker, all of which are known to be the 21st century education skills; subject matter and knowledge are basically means to an end: Life skills.

The three questions above will persist as the roadmap for our work at Qatar Academy Al Khor with the support of students, faculty, parents and community at large.

Finally, it gives me pleasure to inform our parents that QAK has been accepted as a candidate school in the MYP/IB Programme and has been accepted as a Candidate for Accreditation by Middle States Association for Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools( MSA-CESS).
